Holiday update

Delayed updates. Will be giving brief descriptions, too long to elaborate. Exams ended around the 2nd week of June. I think I did pretty well in it. Thats all I can remember from it...

Then came Redang Island. Went there to get some peace of mind and clear up some thoughts that have been in mind for quite some time. Enjoy the beach, the scenery, and some eye exercises XDXD.

Nothing much to say about redang also... the fishes were lesser than previous times I went to Redang. The marine park was so empty the day I went. maybe cause its not a school holiday season. However although we were the few ones there, the fishes was quite scarce.

The last day we took the bus from KT to Kuantan, and from there we booked a flight to fly back to Subang through "Firefly airlines".And due to the bus came late at KT, we missed the flight... So we had to take the morning bus the next day instead.


~There is a better group picture where all of us are in there. But lazy to find it. XD

Started Oxford Brookes University (OBU) degree too. Have to type a 6500 word thesis and research on a company. Another spoiler of holidays. And since this is my very first thesis I am doing, I am doing it with insecurities and uncertainties... ><. So far so good I guess..

ACCA students (me) are able to register for OBU during their course. Its a "sun lou" (on the way) course. What benefits it gives? It will improve the portfolio in the future. Just giving brief description of OBU as a lot of people ask me whether I changed my course or not when "I say I am doing OBU degree now".

Holidays is ending though and a more challenging semester is going to start... Will be taking 2 papers next semester and looking forward for the "no classes on tuesdays and fridays" being sufficient to cope the semester.

"Dead Like Me"

Dead Like Me is an American television comedy-drama starring Ellen Muth and Mandy Patinkin as grim reapers who live and work in Seattle, Washington. Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, the show was created by Bryan Fuller for the Showtime network, where it ran for two seasons in 2003 and 2004 before cancellation. Fuller left the show five episodes into the first season due to creative differences; creative direction of Dead Like Me was then taken over by executive producers John Masius and Stephen Godchaux. A direct-to-DVD movie entitled Dead Like Me: Life After Death was released on February 17, 2009 with an option to restart the series.

In my opinion this series is quite good and funny as well. IF this series gets restarted then its great for me that is, till you got interested with it too.

Amazing G-Race & Comic blog

Finals are around the corner. Studies have been doing well lately. I must be impressed of myself.

There was an event called Amazing G-race( parody of Amazing Race) held in Sunway University College on the 25th April 2009. Decided to attend it to exercise and sweat out after 2 weeks of mind cramping with information and knowledge.

There were a few challenges that the Sunway Student Council organized for this event.

First challenge was finding alphabets throughout the entire campus. Spent some time searching for this as some groups that reached the alphabets first decided to prevent other groups from getting the alphabets therefore throw the alphabets or tear it up.

Second challenge was at the "Elephant Walk"( a large place for people to do morning walk i guess...) Some number challenge. My group and Zi Wen's group cooperated to complete it. We were one of the early group that complete the challenge quickly. Not too bad. "I think that we are all very smart", that's what we thought when we happily get the next clue.

Third challenge


I forgotten what are the buildings but we went to Sunway Pyramid. We asked the information counter whether they have seen any college students with the Amazing G-race tag ( big green cardboard around the necks given by the Student Council ). State got see them in pyramid around the J-Co donuts. WE checked the map directory of Sunway Pyramid. We went to the nearest key shop at the South area of Sunway Pyramid.

In the end, we met one of the Student Council member at Starbucks. Then he told us that is not in Pyramid yet and that's when we found out we interpreted the 3rd clue wrongly...

SO in the end the 3rd clue was to a place called SouthQUAY and it is pronounced as South"Key".

Man that was one hell of a run. I think we wasted about an hour plus due to this misinterpretation. During the red line ( the run towards SouthQuay ) it was one of the most demoralizing run I ever ran in my life. Is like... just give up... just run back to college and take a good rest... WE even met other groups who had to suffer a 10 minutes penalty for not being able to solve the 2nd challenge during the "red line".

Fifth challenge:
In front of 7eleven which is outside of pyramid. (basically we took one big round)

Sixth challenge:
All done in Sunway pyramid. Not much there. But one challenge was that we are suppose to sing this commercial


Seventh challenge:
Back in college. Nothing much here to talk about.

Conclusion: Don't be too overconfident or proud of what you have achieve. LOL.

Robert Kiyosaki latest Reccomendation

I found this video online. All this while I thought that Robert Kiyosaki ( the author of the best selling Rich Dad Poor Dad ) was focusing on real estate. His book does state the opportunities that happens in life and not restricted to real estate, but his book is mostly real estate oriented. His "Cashflow" board game is also focus more on real estate and shares. Well looks like he have a change in point of view due to recent years.

CAT/ACCA Social night 2009

This happened last week. Not much to be blog about it anyway. There were performance, speeches, drama plays, friends, foods, girls... guys... lecturers..

The social night wasn't too bad. The only unfortunate thing was the sound system. Can't catch a thing of most of the performance at that night. I think I have no understanding of the drama play that was performed by the Sunway ACCA club. Well from the way I look at it, it looks like they did their best. ( They shouted throughout the entire performance, though still cant hear a lot. )

Boredom = update time

Well havent been touching this blog for a month.

December 2008 exams was out. Wasn't that happy with it. Although I passed all, but my results was in the 60s. I know I am not suppose to complained, coz as long as it is a pass and i move on then it is fine. But having my results being in that range is sort of telling me that I am not putting much work in my studies. Makes me worry as i am closing the margin passing rate.

And there are plenty of friends who unexpectedly didnt make it as well... Been with them for close to 2 years, was hoping all of us can move on together, but sadly things happens... Well at least we are still at the same class and still able to joke and talk around.

Lately have been reading lots of Marvel comics. Spiderman, X-men, Avengers, crossover events etc. Another addiction that seems to been disturbing my studying time lately. Luckily I just finished reading almost all the major events. therefore more time to study for me after this week. XD. I am thinking of having a blog that will post the download links of this comics sometime in the future.

Another thing I would like to share is What to Say When you Talk To Yourself by Shad Helmstetter.



As the title of this book says, this books tells the effect of words being said to you by yourself. It explains that in a day, the person who talks to you the most is you. Therefore it affects your judgements, your decisions, your mentaliy, your goals, your ability to concentrate, etcs.

I am the type who reads any novels or books that are not relevant to my studies very very slowly. I have a novel called "Ai Muping: biography of her life during the communist era in China". Its been on my desk since 2006. till now, I am only in page 20+ only. But when I got this Shad's book, I actually finish it in 3 months. Fast, excellent readers should be able to finish reading it less than a day. It's still progress lol.

The only challenge is, I can't seem to find this book anywhere in MPH. haven't try Kinokuniya though. might go there to find this book.

Joanna Wang is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter, daughter of famous music producer 王治平. Born in Taipei but raised in Los Angeles, Wang graduated from Gabrielino High School in 2006. Her debut album, Start From Here, was released in January 2008 as a double-disc set, one in English and the other in Chinese.

Well though she is new in the industry, she is not that known in Malaysia yet. I don't hear her songs being played in the radio since last year till now.

Basically nothing much is new in life. Normal daily routines in and out. Exams are coming around the corner, and time is lacking. I should manage my time more efficiently.

Small update

Yesterday was the first week of not having to work as a tuition teacher anymore. No more rush back on friday to get ready for work anymore. No more looking at numbers from top to bottom to check whether the students final answer is correct. i used to like numbers, however this tuition sessions actually causes numbers to give me headaches everytime. Imagine seeing tons of worksheets with a bunch of workings to scrutinize (thorough checking ). Checking on a sampling basis is not allowed as well, though i do slack of once in a while and just marked their answers based on my understanding with the children past results.

Audit application:
1) Client appoints auditor( marker)
~ have to accept appointment in this case regarding of the risk level.

2) Audit planning
~ The student worksheets are followed with some progress book. Used it as a reference to understand the students SWOT (strength weakness opportunity threat).

~Risk assessment
a weak student = high audit risk ( 2% ) (aka allowance of a 1 - 2 % of marking the students answer wrongly)

a strong student = low audit risk (10%) (aka allowance of a 1 - 10% of marking the students answer wrongly)

3) Test of control (TOC)
~students past works was due to copying / simply do without thinking

~if student have proven to be doing work properly with understanding, RSP ( Reduced substansive Procedure - less work to do , less detailed marking )

~if student have shown bad results, ESP (Extensive substansive procedure - more work to do, more detailed marking , more prone to headaches.)

~other factors :
If students shows good results however with bad handwriting.Strong controls but results from TOC (handwriting) not strong means ESP

4) the final steps of audit is not applicable so far.

Well that task is over for now. And a good thing is that the lecturer ( employer) told me that i can work anytime i want especially during the semester breaks. Cool huh? Maybe i go back there if there is a need of cash though I have to there not for my pocket but from my heart.

Other news:
My 8 years old CPU kong. Now in the process of diagnosing the problem. may the memory and files still remain intact. So much important things in there that wasn't able to backup in them. The marvel comics( base on previous post ) are one of them.. sob sob...

Business going great so far. Though I have some recent constraints, things manage to work out fine. now just have to arrange time schedule.

Streamyx connection lately been crappy. Download very slow and garena been laggy. Cant even surf the net properly.

Chinese New Year

Well having some time right now so decided to post a bit.

CNY have been good. I manage to rest again... though its an unrequired rest... Lots of stuffs happened. There was the reunion dinner, relatives came to visit my family. No hassle of traffic jam, just being at home and wait for angpau to come lol.

Well I cant describe much about my relatives visit as there is nothing much to talk about. They came, we chit chat, we ate, we say good byes and we live happily ever after for one more year.

I found out taking care of kids are so troublesome. So far I have 3 nephews, sorta.. taking care of them during the CNY was stressful. One nephew( std 4 - 6 i guess) wants to play computer game that he does not know how to play. Another ( kindergarden - std 1 i guess ) wants to play on another computer. one call " su suk" another also call "su suk" (little uncle i guess...) look there look here. Man... kids these days... But my nephews are so cute... man... can't believe i said that... XDXD The other nephew is a 9 month old infant who started walking on her own already. not to bad huh?

Over the week, when there was no relatives to be visited or to visit, I started studying... For a few pages... This is due to a great website that upload almost all of the latest Marvel , DC comics and other publishing company comics such as IDW etc.

I downloaded the marvel comics due to the increase of live action films from based on their work recently. I wasn't that interested in collecting these comics due to the large history of it that dates since 1970's. However there are some recent stories that are quite interesting to read.



Civil war
This tells the story regarding a dispute that causes Ironman to pass a Superhuman Registration Act, where all superheroes have to reveal their identity. A group agree to follow the law while another group led by Captain America decided to go against it.



Secret invasion
After the events of Civil war, there is an alien invasion of aliens called Skrulls into the Marvel Universe. This arc is another interesting story. It is then followed by another arc called "Dark Reign"

Dark Reign is an ongoing series currently so its not complete yet. There are other comics I downloaded from that site, mostly the Ultimate Marvel universe. These have kept me occupied for the free days of CNY till my studies have been neglected ><><

Well since uni have started again, more focus will be on studies for now.
